Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is searching for a Cyber Infrastructure Engineer -SME to support United States Space Force (USSF) by conducting test activities to verify and validate the effectiveness of defensive cyber tools. A successful candidate should be a leader and problem solver with a proven ability to deliver superior results as part of a high performing team in a fast-paced environment.
Your essential job functions will include but may not be limited to:
- Lead and contribute to Blue and Red Team (Purple Team) activities to promote Defensive Cyber Operations-Space (DCO-S) tool feedback and improvement, while improving Operator readiness and TTPs
- Engage cyber squadrons, sustainment squadrons, and PEOs to schedule and execute Purple Team activities
- Provide After Action/Lessons Learned reports to DCO-S tool developers, testers, and deployment personnel
- An adversarial, ethical hacker mindset with supporting cyber certifications or proven experience is a must
- working knowledge is desirable in various software systems and architectures, communications protocols: and network hardware devices.
Qualifications
- Must have at least one certification related to Red Team activities; ideal candidates will possess many
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, data science, software development or STEM related specialty and 18 years’ related professional experience; Or master’s degree in computer science, software engineering, data science, software development, or STEM related specialty and 10 years' related professional experience
Desired skills/experience:
- Relevant DoD work experience in Space Systems and Defensive Cyber Operations
- 15+ years' related professional experience, i.e. Red and Blue team; background in Offensive or Defensive Cyber and Intel highly desired
- Red team/adversarial test experience
- Must be a Subject Matter Expert, highly respected in the field/domain with prior experience and leadership roles validating SME status
Clearance:
- Must possess a Top Secret with SCI eligibility. SAR/SAP experience highly desirable
Location/Travel Requirements:
- Place of work is Colorado Springs; remote work opportunity is limited. You may be required to travel periodically, less than 10%.
The pay range for this position in Colorado is $185,000/year to $225,000/year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on established government contract ranges, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, and other factors. MTSI also offers a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits, dependent on the position offered. Base pay information is based on market location. Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis. This posting will be renewed periodically until the position is filled.
