Role Overview:

 

The Design Responsible Engineer for 12V power electronic \ electromechanical components acts as the technical owner of the assigned component family.
The role involves close collaboration with internal specialists, designers and external suppliers, as well as cross‑functional interaction with Purchasing, Manufacturing Plants, Bench Testing, Quality, and other relevant departments.

The position aims to ensure that products meet performance, quality, innovation, and reliability targets throughout the entire development lifecycle.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Technical Ownership & Product Strategy

  • Create, maintain, and continuously update technical specifications and design rules for the product family.
  • Ensure continuous innovation and alignment with market and competitor benchmarks.
  • Define robust technical solutions to achieve assigned performance and quality targets.

Development & Supplier Coordination

  • Prepare and manage technical documentation for sourcing activities.
  • Support component development in close cooperation with suppliers and Stellantis cross‑functional teams.
  • Ensure compliance with technical deliverables and project milestones.

Validation & Release Management

  • Define and approve validation test plans.
  • Coordinate HW/SW releases, ensuring alignment with validation activities.
  • Track validation progress, including issue management and bug‑fix follow‑up.
  • Define and implement countermeasures in case of technical issues or delays.
  • Approve test results and manage related deviations.

Virtual & Physical Validation

  • Understand and support Virtual Validation Analysis as an integral part of the design process.
  • Contribute to the development of new validation methods and performance targets.
  • Support Physical Validation activities, collaborating on the definition of new testing approaches and criteria.

Quality & Continuous Improvement

  • Support Root Cause Analysis activities.
  • Define technical solutions aimed at quality improvement of vehicles in production, ensuring compliance with quality targets.
Qualifications

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Electronic Engineering or equivalent program
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Electrical/Electronic component development for automotive
  • Deep understanding of the assigned component family, including mechanical and electronic/regulator aspects and power electronics.
  • Solid automotive technical background, including:
    • Environmental requirements
    • Mechanical requirements
    • Vehicle electrical/electronic architecture
    • EMC fundamentals
    • Good engineering practices
    • Design FMEA
    • Technical drawing review and verification
  • Strong teamwork, and good oral and written communication skills; ability to work independently
  • Be able to communicate with global leadership and foreign supplier (English at professional level)

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experienced in industrial or automotive (preferred) area (TIER1...) 
  • Solid understanding with embedded electronics design constraints 
  • Solid understanding of 12V Energy management
  • Familiar with system/component design, EE architecture topologies and safety 
  • Knowledge of applicable safety standards including ISO 26262, and other regulations, industry benchmarks and customer requirements 
  • Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) Belt certification 
  • Solid understanding of system/component design 
  • Familiar with vehicle bus: ETH/CAN FD/LIN/LVDS communication protocols and troubleshooting tools 
  • Justified experience in thermal management for ECU embedded electronics 
  • Being able to support/handle more than one expertise domain as a plus 
  • Justified experience with leading, coaching, animating, and following up design reviews
