Job Description – IT Infrastructure Engineer
FLSA Status: Exempt
Location: Lordstown, OH
Reports To: IT Infrastructure Manager
Primary Function: The IT Infrastructure Engineer administers and supports the organization’s server, storage, virtualization, cloud, backup, monitoring, security, and business-application infrastructure. This position maintains reliable and secure operations, responds to incidents, supports users and projects, and develops documentation and recovery practices that minimize business disruption.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Administer physical and virtual server environments, including Windows Server, Linux, VMware vSphere/vCenter, and the planned Nutanix platform.
- Manage enterprise storage and backup services, including Dell PowerStore, Synology NAS, Veeam server backup, Microsoft 365 backup, recovery testing, and disaster-recovery readiness.
- Administer Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, Entra ID, SharePoint, Teams, identity, access, and tenant-level support.
- Monitor infrastructure and security health using Zabbix, Google SecOps, and related tools; investigate alerts, incidents, anomalies, backup failures, and certificate expirations.
- Administer IT service-management and remote-management platforms, including Kaseya Autotask and Datto, while prioritizing tickets, incidents, changes, and escalations.
- Support core infrastructure services and hosted applications, including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, IIS, SQL Server, SFTP, certificate authorities, VPN certificates, and application license servers.
- Manage Apple Business Manager and Microsoft Intune enrollment for supported Apple devices and assist with endpoint configuration and access requirements.
- Plan and deliver infrastructure projects such as virtualization migrations, network and wireless deployments, data-center improvements, application hosting, and vendor-led implementations.
- Maintain accurate technical documentation, SOPs, runbooks, inventories, system configurations, compliance evidence, and knowledge-transfer materials; provide professional customer support and coordinate with vendors and Central IT.
Required Education
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education, technical training, certifications, and relevant experience.
Required Experience
- Seven or more years of relevant infrastructure, systems administration, or enterprise IT support experience is preferred.
- Demonstrated experience with the following is preferred:
- Microsoft Windows Server, Linux, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP
- Microsoft 365 administration, including Exchange Online, Entra ID, SharePoint, Teams, and Intune
- VMware vSphere/vCenter; exposure to Nutanix or other hyperconverged infrastructure a plus
- Enterprise storage, backup, restoration, disaster recovery, and business-continuity practices
- Infrastructure and security monitoring, incident response, vulnerability remediation, and information-security controls
- PowerShell scripting or other automation methods
- SQL Server, IIS, SFTP, PKI/certificate management, and application license services
- ITSM, change management, project coordination, vendor management, and technical documentation

Required Skills/Licenses/Certifications
- Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis across servers, virtualization, storage, backup, cloud, identity, applications, and network services.
- Ability to administer secure access, privileged roles, certificates, system configurations, and operational controls in an enterprise environment.
- Ability to monitor system health, respond to incidents, restore services, and communicate status and risk clearly to technical and business stakeholders.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft 365, Windows Server, Linux, VMware, Nutanix, Veeam, PowerStore, Synology, Zabbix, Google SecOps, Kaseya Autotask, Datto RMM, and Intune or comparable technologies.
- Proficiency in documenting architecture, configurations, procedures, recovery steps, support knowledge, and audit or compliance evidence.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, participate in daily operational reviews, and coordinate work with internal teams, vendors, and Central IT.
- Understanding of security governance, data classification, retention, acceptable-use requirements, and ISO 27001-aligned practices.
- Relevant certifications such as Microsoft, VMware, Nutanix, Veeam, CompTIA, or ITIL are preferred but not required.
- Availability to support planned maintenance, incident response, and after-hours escalation when business needs require.
