About Ironsite
Construction is one of the most complex and labor-intensive industries, spending $7 trillion annually on labor, but productivity losses cost $1.6 trillion per year due to outdated management tools.
Ironsite leverages wearable cameras combined with human labeling and AI vision language models to drive on-site productivity, safety & training for crafts workers. We put cameras on construction workers' hard hats and vests to analyze what's actually happening on job sites.
We help teams cut labor costs, improve safety, and finish projects faster. We have captured ~50,000 hours of construction footage across 7 states and just partnered with the nation's #2 hard hat manufacturer. We’ve raised over $13M in seed funding from 8VC, South Park Commons, and 30+ leading operators and technologists, including Eric Glyman (Ramp), Jeff Dean (Google), and Scott Wu (Cognition).
The Role
We're seeking an exceptional Mobile Engineer to help build out our mobile platform. You'll own the mobile experience craftsworkers carry in their pocket and the field tools superintendents run their jobsites on. These are critical initiatives that directly impact thousands of construction workers and dozens of major contractors.
What You'll Build
- Craftsworker Mobile Experience: Build the craftsworker-facing mobile web app: Profiles, Stats / Achievements / Badges, the Rewards Marketplace, exportable resume, and multi-language daily notifications with SMS delivery for workers in the field
- Field Tools for Superintendents: Time & Attendance capture in the field, crew check-ins, progress tracking from the jobsite
- Integrations & API: Build the connectors that plug Ironsite into existing construction and HR stacks — Procore, Autodesk, Trimble, and payroll / ERP systems — and the API infrastructure underneath them
Technical Challenges You'll Solve
- Designing a mobile web experience usable by non-technical craftsworkers in the field: multi-language, low-connectivity, and built to drive real engagement
- Building for low-connectivity jobsites: offline-first data, sync conflicts, unreliable networks
What We're Looking For
Technical Excellence
- [required] 5+ years building production mobile experiences
- [required] Strong full stack foundation including modern frontend frameworks (React/TypeScript) and backend technologies (Node.js, PostgreSQL, Redis)
- Strong background in API design, third-party integrations, and real-time data and analytics surfaces
- Production experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS) and shipping reliable, high-scale web applications
- Systems thinking for end-to-end product architecture and cross-team integration
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelors degree (B.S./B.A.) in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or related field
- Experience with construction management software (Procore, Autodesk, Trimble), HR tech, or similar enterprise workflow tools
- Experience with construction, manufacturing, or similar operational industries
Location & Compensation
- San Francisco, CA (on-site)
- Hyper competitive salary and equity package
- Full benefits including health, dental, vision, and 401k +6% match
