Location: Reston, Virginia / Washington, D.C.

Work Arrangement: Hybrid – 2–3 days per week onsite

Position Overview

BizTech Fusion is seeking a highly experienced Senior AWS Cloud-Native Software Engineer – AI & DevOps to design, develop, and support complex cloud-native applications and services on AWS.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with AWS cloud-native development, modern software engineering, CI/CD, automated testing, secure coding, and AI-assisted development tools. The candidate will also provide technical mentorship, contribute to architecture and technical decisions, and help optimize and secure production services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement complex cloud-native features and services on AWS.
  • Develop scalable, reliable, and maintainable software using modern programming languages and frameworks.
  • Participate in code reviews and enforce software engineering best practices.
  • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks.
  • Leverage AI-assisted development tools throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Troubleshoot, optimize, monitor, and harden production applications and services.
  • Develop and maintain unit, integration, and automated tests.
  • Apply secure coding practices throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Mentor junior and mid-level developers and provide technical guidance.
  • Contribute to technical architecture, design decisions, and engineering standards.
  • Collaborate with software architects, business analysts, developers, QA teams, and other stakeholders to refine and deliver user stories.
  • Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, technical discussions, and design sessions.
  • Identify opportunities to improve development, deployment, reliability, security, and operational efficiency.
  • Support continuous improvement of cloud-native and DevOps practices.

Required Qualifications

  • 9+ years of professional software development experience.
  • Strong hands-on experience with cloud-native software development on AWS.
  • Proficiency with modern programming languages and frameworks.
  • Strong experience with CI/CD and DevOps practices.
  • Experience developing automated unit and integration tests.
  • Strong understanding of secure software development and coding practices.
  • Experience troubleshooting and optimizing production applications.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, take initiative, and work independently.
  • Adaptability and flexibility in a fast-paced technical environment.
  • Strong collaboration and teamwork skills.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Ability to satisfy required background investigation and clearance requirements.

Mandatory AWS Certification

AWS Certification is mandatory.

A copy of the AWS certification must be provided along with the candidate's submission details.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with serverless and event-driven AWS architectures.
  • Experience with AWS services such as Lambda, API Gateway, EventBridge, SQS/SNS, DynamoDB, or similar cloud-native technologies.
  • Federal IT experience.
  • Experience with AI-assisted developer tooling and AI-powered software development workflows.
  • Experience designing highly scalable, secure, and highly available cloud-native applications.
  • Strong background in DevSecOps and cloud automation.

Important Candidate Requirements

  • 9+ years of software development experience.
  • AWS certification is mandatory — certification copy required with submission.
  • U.S. Citizen only.
  • Must be available to work 2–3 days per week onsite in Reston, VA or Washington, D.C.
  • Strong hands-on AWS cloud-native development experience is required.
  • Candidates should demonstrate senior-level software engineering and technical leadership experience.
