Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

Location: Remote

Project Type: Ad-hoc / Project-Based

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to support a client on an ad-hoc, project-based basis. The successful candidate will provide senior-level technical expertise across cloud infrastructure and Microsoft technologies, supporting the delivery, enhancement, and troubleshooting of enterprise IT environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, maintain, and support cloud infrastructure environments.
  • Provide senior technical expertise on ad-hoc infrastructure and cloud projects.
  • Support and manage Microsoft Azure cloud services and environments.
  • Administer and support Microsoft Active Directory and related Microsoft infrastructure technologies.
  • Troubleshoot complex infrastructure, cloud, connectivity, and system-related issues.
  • Assist with cloud migrations, infrastructure upgrades, integrations, and optimisation initiatives.
  • Implement and maintain infrastructure security, access controls, and best practices.
  • Collaborate with technical teams, stakeholders, and client representatives to deliver project requirements.
  • Provide technical documentation, reporting, and knowledge transfer where required.
  • Ensure solutions align with enterprise architecture, security, performance, and operational requirements.

Required Experience & Skills

  • 10+ years of experience working within large corporate / enterprise IT environments.
  • Strong experience in Cloud Infrastructure Engineering.
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft Azure.
  • Strong knowledge and practical experience with Microsoft Active Directory.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise infrastructure, networking, security, and systems administration.
  • Experience supporting cloud infrastructure projects and technical implementations.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to work independently and manage ad-hoc project requirements.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and collaboration skills.
  • Proficiency across the Microsoft technology ecosystem.

Advantageous

  • Azure certifications such as AZ-104, AZ-305 or equivalent.
  • Experience with Azure networking, security, identity, and governance.
  • Experience with hybrid cloud environments.
  • Experience with Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD).
  • Experience with PowerShell
  • Experience working with enterprise-scale cloud environments.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a highly experienced and technically strong Cloud Infrastructure Engineer who is comfortable working independently, can quickly understand complex enterprise environments, and can provide hands-on technical support across a variety of ad-hoc projects.
