Full job details

The Senior Infrastructure Engineer serves as a key contributor in the planning, design, construction, renovation, and delivery of infrastructure across UCSF facilities. This role oversees the build-out, expansion, repair, and modernization of Infrastructure services to support the university’s academic, medical, and research missions.

Working in close coordination with UCSF departments, project managers, design consultants, vendors, and internal ITS teams, the Senior Infrastructure Engineer provides technical direction and construction oversight for all phases of infrastructure deployment—including low-voltage systems, copper and fiber cabling, endpoint, telephony, DaaS and health care modality installations. The role ensures infrastructure components are integrated into building renovation and new construction projects in alignment with UCSF IT design standards and long-term infrastructure strategies.

The Senior Infrastructure Engineer manages and inspects the installation, upgrade, and repair of both inside-plant and outside-plant communication systems, ensuring compliance with construction drawings, specifications, and code requirements.
