Position Summary

CVS Health is seeking a Senior Varicent Integration & Platform Engineer with expertise in technical architecture and integration to join the Human Resources Technology team. This experienced and motivated professional will support Compensation business operations by delivering optimal, scalable technology solutions. As an integral member of the team responsible for the Varicent Sales Performance Management (SPM) platform, its integrations, and its technical architecture, this role will address the needs of Total Rewards and Human Resources business partners and stakeholders.

 

The ideal candidate will combine deep technical and platform expertise with a demonstrated ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical partners. The role will provide essential support to the Compensation organization for sales incentive technology needs and will collaborate with HR Technology, Centers of Excellence (COEs), and HR Shared Services across all business segments. This individual will establish cross-functional relationships throughout HR Technology and Human Resources to ensure that solutions and initiatives are effectively designed and implemented, with colleague satisfaction as a key goal.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with business and technical partners to support the Varicent technical architecture and integration roadmap, including the established list of global priorities.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, integration specifications, and operational support procedures for the Varicent platform.
• Understand the needs of the business and evaluate platform capabilities through research and testing.
• Maintain a clear and up-to-date list of key deliverables and timelines, develop plans to achieve those targets, and proactively communicate progress to a variety of stakeholders.
• Ensure that the delivered product meets or exceeds the business' needs and business objectives.
• Support enhancements, project requests, and defect resolution by providing optimal, scalable technical solutions.
• Work with Architecture and Integration teams to design and implement end-to-end integration solutions between Varicent and enterprise systems such as Workday, Salesforce, and Google Cloud Platform.
• Configure, customize, and develop Varicent applications, including calculations, workflows, incentives, rules, and compensation plan components, and creates the necessary documentation at each stage.
• Collaborate with key cross-functional partners to maintain transparency, consistency in delivery, and set expectations.
• Actively participate in Varicent's vendor release process by engaging with the release team on cross-functional initiatives, liaising with business leads regarding critical impacts and upcoming enhancement opportunities, supporting regression testing, and guiding regression testing teams.
• Maintain awareness of new and planned Varicent functionality, actively engaging with the vendor to prepare and communicate changes that could impact business.
• Lead the translation of business requirements into technical solutions and create appropriate timelines.
• Conduct fit-gap analysis and functional design; configures the application; supports user acceptance testing; and maintains the software solution.
• Maintain up-to-date documentation in tracking tools, including architecture diagrams and integration specifications.
• Perform and support user acceptance testing and creates the necessary documentation, including test plans, scenarios, cases, and results.
• Ensure adherence to industry’s best practices, actively engage with the Varicent vendor community regarding future releases, and encourage product innovation and alternative approaches to business challenges.
• Integrate relevant data and information, applies the findings to strengthen the Varicent platform strategy, and shares key insights and actions based on data and metrics.
• Design, build, and maintain complex Varicent reports, dashboards, analytics, and audit capabilities to support operational and business reporting requirements.
• Monitor platform health, troubleshoot issues, and drive root cause analysis and resolution for production incidents.
• Establish and maintain platform governance, including security administration, access controls and compliance monitoring.
• Mentor team members and promote engineering excellence through code reviews and technical standards.

 

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years Varicent SPM platform experience, including calculations, workflows and configuration.
• 5+ years of experience configuring and building integrations between Varicent and enterprise systems.
• 5+ years of experience configuring and debugging Business Processes and building solutions in Varicent.
• 5+ years of experience with calculations, complex reports, and various configurations in Varicent.
• 4+ years of experience with Varicent integration architecture and design patterns.
• 4+ years of experience working in the HR technology landscape, including cloud computing and mobile technologies.
• 4+ years of experience designing, building, and maintaining complex Varicent reports, dashboards, analytics, and audit capabilities to support operational and business reporting requirements.
• 4+ years of experience demonstrating strong organizational, analytical, time management, and problem-solving skills.
• 4+years of experience developing and sustaining relationships with business partners and stakeholders.
• 3+ years of experience providing timely resolution for defects and collaboration with SaaS vendors to achieve this.
• 3+ years of experience working with business partners to optimize their business processes.
• 3+ years of experience working effectively in a team environment while managing multiple tasks.
• 3+ years of experience demonstrating excellent written and verbal communication skills.

 

Preferred Qualifications

• A strong work ethic, self-starter, and able to be highly productive in a dynamic, collaborative environment.
• Experience supporting HR and Compensation systems for large organizations having non-exempt employees.
• Project Management experience.
• Experience with change management and communications.

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$83,430.00 - $222,480.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
