About the Role
Join an early-stage healthcare technology startup as a founding backend engineer, owning the systems behind clinical and financial workflows. You will build reliable infrastructure for processing complex healthcare data and bringing clinical intelligence capabilities into production.
What You'll Do
Build and scale backend systems for chart processing, claims, authorizations, denials, and payer and provider integrations.
Develop browser and computer-use automation for navigating medical record software and payer portals.
Design infrastructure for scanned charts, PDFs, structured claims, unstructured notes, and operational data at scale.
Build orchestration, queuing, retry, and observability systems for long-running workflows across healthcare platforms.
Partner with research and product engineers to productionize clinical intelligence capabilities and establish engineering patterns.
What We're Looking For
At least 3 years of backend software engineering experience focused on complex systems and infrastructure.
Strong experience with Python, microservices, distributed systems, and end-to-end backend architecture.
Background scaling infrastructure in a technically rigorous company or fast-paced startup environment.
Experience with data pipelines, workflow orchestration, large or messy datasets, or complex integrations.
Experience putting LLMs or machine learning models into production; browser automation experience is a plus.
A bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, mathematics, or a related field, with strong technical fundamentals.
Interest in joining a very early-stage team, taking ownership, and helping shape its engineering direction.
US work authorization is required. Visa sponsorship is not available.
