About the Role
As a senior engineering anchor on the platform team, you will own the architecture and operation of core data infrastructure for a scientific data platform. Your work will make complex laboratory data easier for scientists and AI systems to securely access and use.
What You'll Do
Set the architectural direction, delivery priorities, security posture, and scaling strategy for the platform.
Build and maintain ingestion pipelines, APIs, microservices, and storage systems that organize varied scientific data while preserving provenance.
Operate knowledge graph and vector search systems to support combined semantic and structured retrieval.
Develop high-concurrency services in Go and Python, including controlled agent write access and isolated execution environments.
Design service authentication, tenant isolation, secrets management, encryption, and other security controls.
Own cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, and observability, and establish service objectives and developer workflows.
Set engineering standards through architecture reviews, code reviews, mentoring, and team development.
What We're Looking For
Three to seven years of platform or infrastructure engineering experience building and operating production backend infrastructure, data platforms, or distributed systems.
Strong experience with Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible, and modern CI/CD systems.
Experience designing ETL or ELT pipelines for complex, unstructured enterprise or scientific data.
Proficiency with Go, Python, FastAPI, TypeDB and TypeQL, Qdrant, GitHub Actions, OpenTelemetry, and Prometheus.
Dedicated infrastructure engineering experience, with the ability to guide architecture and raise engineering standards.
Experience with computational biology, biotech data systems, or compliance frameworks such as SOC 2 is a plus.
