Your Opportunity, Your Team

The Principal Platform Engineer supports QVC, and serves as a senior technical leader responsible for shaping the future of our enterprise database and data platform environment. You will combine engineering expertise with strategic influence to ensure our database platforms are scalable, secure, resilient, and built to enable fast, reliable delivery across both on-premises and cloud ecosystems.

Where You'll Work

This role is remote; job seekers must reside in one of the following states to be considered: PA, NJ, DE. This role may require you to be on site in West Chester, PA as needed.

What You'll Do

  • Lead the design, evolution, and modernization of enterprise database platforms across cloud and on-premises environments, with a focus on scalability, reliability, performance, and security.

  • Define database engineering standards, best practices, and automation approaches that improve operational consistency and accelerate delivery.

  • Partner with architecture, engineering, analytics, and product teams to deliver resilient database solutions aligned to business and technology priorities.

  • Drive performance tuning, capacity planning, high availability/disaster recovery, and complex issue resolution across critical database environments.

  • Mentor engineers and act as a thought leader, helping elevate engineering standards and modern database practices across the organization.

What You'll Bring

  • 10+ years of experience in database engineering, platform engineering, or data platform engineering within complex enterprise environments.

  • Deep expertise in relational and NoSQL databases, including strong experience with Azure database services, database modernization, and cloud adoption.

  • Proven success in performance tuning, automation, HA/DR, security, and governance, with the ability to influence stakeholders and mentor technical teams.
