The Design and Release Senior Engineer is responsible for managing the entire life cycle of their respective components and sub-assemblies including defining requirements, conceptual design, supplier sourcing, manufacturing, validation and industrialization. He/she will be the technical team lead within a Transmission, Driveline or EDM Gear Reducers Organization Council of Excellence (COE) department for key components, subsystems and systems within their technical domain.
Basic Qualifications:
- A minimum of a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or related degree field
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in propulsion systems, automatic transmissions, driveline systems or related field
- A minimum of 5 years of design and release in related COE components
- Experience and knowledge of automatic transmissions, driveline systems or electric drive units operation and function.
- Previous experience as a DRE in OEM and tier 1 suppliers to OEMs
- Proficiency in GD&T, creating drawings of components and virtual analysis
- Strong interpersonal communication and team leadership skills and comfortable with presenting to executive leadership teams
- Ability to travel globally to suppliers as needed
Preferred Qualifications:
- Masters Degree in Engineering
- Greenbelt or Blackbelt certification
