POSITION OVERVIEW
The Senior Data Platform Engineer is responsible for managing and optimizing MasterCorp’s hybrid data ecosystem. This role ensures the efficient operation of on-premises SQL Server and Azure SQL environments, supports enterprise analytics, and partners with FP&A to deliver scalable Power BI reporting solutions. The position also enforces data governance, security, and performance standards to maintain a reliable and high-performing data platform. This position will report to the SVP of IT and be based in Orlando, FL and will work a hybrid schedule.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

- Manage and maintain hybrid SQL Server and Azure SQL environments
- Optimize system performance through tuning, indexing, and configuration
- Implement high availability and disaster recovery strategies, including backups, clustering, and replication
- Design and develop ETL/ELT data pipelines
- Build and manage integrations, including API and legacy system connections
- Partner with FP&A to deliver Power BI dashboards and data models
- Enforce data governance, lineage, and data quality standards
- Implement security controls, including role-based and row-level security
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve system performance issues
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- 10+ years of experience in database engineering or administration
- Expertise in SQL Server, Azure SQL, T-SQL, SSIS, SSRS, and Power BI Report Server
- Experience with Azure Data Factory and Synapse
- Experience with enterprise ORM frameworks, including performance optimization
- Proven experience designing and supporting enterprise data warehouse solutions in hybrid environments
- Experience with BI integration and data transformation across enterprise systems (e.g., Workday, Salesforce)
- Advanced Power BI experience, including data modeling and DAX
- Experience with on-premises to cloud transformation
- Strong data integration experience across hybrid environments
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong knowledge of data governance and security practices
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to bridge IT and business teams
- Experience supporting software development teams
- Experience supporting FP&A and financial reporting functions
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
- Rarely – on average 5% of travel on a quarterly basis
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This job operates in a professional office environment routinely using standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, faxes, and filing cabinets.
